We ended the first year of this Series in 2015 with Episode 21 - A Special Place, and a screening at the Lyric in Blacksburg. That year's highlights included Episodes like Sacrificial Resource Zone, and Science. We also released 18 PSA's for usage on affiliate websites and for anyone who wished to submit them for television usage. We went from awareness, to citizen actions, to protests, and learned a lot along the way about the Energy Sector with it's strong arm on our politicians.

First in the TRAILER & PSA PLAYLIST below is a trailer produced in collaboration with Bold Alliance, to encourage landowners to join the Bold Appalachia Landowner Alliance, a non-profit education and legal defense group established for landowners fighting proposed pipelines throughout the Appalachia Region. PIPELINE... Series Background

Lucid Media has created this episodic documentary about the opposition to the proposed 330 mile, 42" Mountain Valley Pipeline coming from West Virginia through Virginia's New River Valley on it's way to the Transco transmission pipeline in Pittsylvania, VA. When news of the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline hit the NRV, there was no question in my mind what I could do to help. Documentary work has been my passion. I became aware of the dirty business of fracking some 9 years ago with the opening of the first Gasland documentary. ItÕs unfortunate that so many people have yet to see these important documentaries, Gasland and Gasland Part 2. We need to share this information far and wide.

ItÕs my hope that by creating these visual Episodes more people will get informed and motivated into action in our back yard and beyond. We need large numbers of people to come out to events, write letters and cross over into other communities to show support to stop all three proposed pipelines. Virginia by virtue of location has been chosen as the interstate highway for the Marcellus and Utica Shale fracked gas. We lie between our damaged neighbors where fracking is taking place and the pipelines headed to the East Coast. We are the link up to move this glut of fracked gas. Our opposition can make a difference, if we stop these pipelines we can stop the fracking that is devastating the environment and people's lives.

It is no longer necessary to rely on fossil fuels. Use of wind, solar, and geothermal technologies currently in use can take this nation to zero carbon and methane emissions. The focus should be on the big picture which is climate change, all else is secondary. The monster storms experienced here and around the globe will only escalate from the continued use of fossil fuels. The accidental and intentional venting of these emissions occur in each step of the process of extraction, transmission, and storage, daily. The message to be shared with our friends here and all around the globe is that we do not have the luxury of decades to gradually switch to renewable energy. The time is now.
